FAFSA & Financial Aid Updates
2024-2025 Updates
CLASS OF 2025!
2025-2026 FAFSA Beta Testing is Now Open for All Students & Families!
The Office of Federal Student Aid has announced that beta testing for the 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid is now open to any student wishing to complete it. This early opening period is still considered part of the applicant's testing process prior to its official Dec. 11 launch, but the functionality is identical to what will be available after the launch and will allow students and their families to begin the FAFSA completion process sooner than expected. All students can now go to fafsa.gov to get immediate access to the form.
MCAN echoes recommendations from the National College Attainment Network to help your students and their contributors set up FSA IDs at studentaid.gov several days prior to starting the FAFSA to facilitate the user experience. They can also check MI Student Aid's Be FAFSA Ready page to learn more about preparing for the application process. Schools and organizations should consider offering FAFSA workshops sooner than previously planned. For students who want to submit a paper FAFSA, FSA has indicated that a PDF version will be available at the official Dec. 1 release date.
