Farmington High School students and staff celebrated May being Mental Health Awareness month with a handful of different events during the first week of May.

On May 4th, students had the opportunity to engage with members from the community who offered information and support from different organizations at FHS' Mental Health Resource Fair.
On T. May 5th, students signed up to participate in a safeTALK (Suicide Alertness for Everyone) session to learn how to identify signs of someone being in crisis and how to appropriately support that person.

Finally, on F. May 8th, the 9th-grade cohorts had dedicated time to enjoy a mindfulness yoga session, a presentation on teen mental health, and a journaling/reflection hour with FHS' social workers. A huge thank you to Farmington Youth Assistance for being a sponsor for the Friday events!

What an incredible year of service projects from our amazing NAHS students! 🎨
Our biggest group yet at FHS - 30 dedicated juniors & seniors - spent the year making a lasting impact through art & creativity. This year, they:
✨ Painted new murals throughout our hallways
✨ Created ceramic zen gardens to gift teachers for their classrooms
✨ Drew portraits of children for The Memory Project. The Memory Project connected our high schoolers with children in orphanages in India through art; 4 NAHS students drew handmade, heartfelt portraits as special memories for these children.
*And to be completed next year... they will be creating a brand-new coloring book for every classroom & office space in our school.
Mrs. Dukes is so proud of the inspiration and lasting impact these students have left behind through their art, service, and dedication to others 🙌🏽
